Racism and bigotry seem to run rampant in the right wing conservative party.
Obama is OK w/ rev wright... doesn't seem to be just a right wing thing...
Obama broke with Wright months ago.
after 20 years...and only when it was politically expedient
i don't want to get into it that much... but the fact that there is racism on the left was my main point
Palin / Shay 2012!
Chaos can't seem to keep up to date, I imagine.
GOP leaders can't screw up fast enough, so... now... ...
... ... future GOP leaders screw up before they even become leaders!
I'm wondering how many generations it will take before this mutation wears its self out with the republicans.
chaos, can you just come out and denounce the racist subject at hand...do you agree with the subject of this article or not??? do you agree with the racist 'eric' and the young republican...whatever the title is, woman or not???
do you think that someone agreeing with another, who uses a racial epiteth as agregious as 'coon', is a good candidate for anything other that 'grand wizard of...crud' ???
do you???
luv,
ron
p.s. and do not mention anyone, or anything else, at least until you answer these questions, or i swear to God i will...put you on my ignore list...that surely seems to be getting long by the day...
first, why tell me you are going to ignore me if i don't comply with your demands? if you want to do it, just do it....then you won't have to listen to anyone else's ideas that upset you. and why say that in such a threatening way? what do you gain by telling me you will ignore me? and i would love to see you call other people on posts that do this every same thing. articles about Obama's actions have so many posts about Bush and no comment on Obama. do you take them to task and ignore them inf they don't comply?
second. what in my posts leads to believe that I condone what the people in the article have done? I feel no need to prove myself to you to prevent you ignoring me. I was merely responding to jaywow's charge that racism and bigorty run rampant on the right. The rev wright thing is a good example of rampant racism on the left.
racism sucks in all forms... but some people can only see it on one side. either hold everyone to the same standards or don't... i know I do... do you?
chaos, no one said it WAS only a wrong-wing thing. i certainly didn't. the only point i was making, to you, was that throwing OTHER names around in this particular...thing, is of no value. we are not talking about anyone else but the two young people mentioned in the article.
if you want to bring up wright and HIS bigotry, write an article, and i will be agreeing with YOU !!! you are right about the bush/obama thing. unfortunately everyone does this...except me (i'm pulling your leg, chaos, fer god's sake...lighten up, you really must, it will do you harm, in the end)
and as for my p.s., again i was being less that serious, but i thought it was evident in the way i wrote it. if you knew me a little better, you would know that to take COMPLETELY serious...is, just silly !!!
luv,
ron
oh @!$%#, chaos, i forgot to apologize to you. i am honestly sorry for my comments...i did not mean to offend you...in this, I am serious, and i apologize with all due humility.
luv,
ron
Prof you guys keep citing Wright, and we keep citing someone new every week. Your harping on Wright isn't keeping up. Sorry. But the right wing has the hold on racism and bigotry. IMO.
ok sotomayor (her statements are racist but again some only see it from one side), sharpton and jackson to name a few more.
Racism / sexism - wrong period. I am white and female. Have been the victim of reverse discrimination once - a Filipino woman I worked with in Hawaii on a military base called me a racist because I was raised in Arkansas and therefore must be a racist because she have visited Little Rock and been treated badly. For better or worse, I had been raised in NW Ark with no minorities in our community except one family of Filipinos that were liked by most citizens. And I was raised hearing racial slurs and comments, but didn't buy into them because I had a nice little Scottish (step) grandmother who always told me people were people, and she showed love to just about anybody her entire life.
Her words shaped my viewpoint at an early age, and I even argued slavery was wrong against our school's superintendant when I was 14. He was from further south, and had very different opinions. He was also substituting that day since our teacher was out sick.
I watch documentaries and movies about pro and college sports when black players weren't allowed to compete and it seems like the dark ages. (I'm 52.)
My husband fought in Vietnam, and said you don't see color in war. We were a company, and had to depend upon one another for our lives.
I say we are a country, and we are depending on one another to keep it free, and secure for all.
